Comparison yanmar vs john deere tractor

i know most smaller john deeres have yanmar engines but our mechanic tried to tell me that if you set the two side by side(the same models) that all the parts are interchangeable. is this true or r some of the parts interchangeable?:drool:

Only some of the parts interchange. More parts from early Deeres (650, 750, 850, 950). But again only some of the parts.
