Yanmar SA325 newbie

I had mine running on a slight hill this weekend and it rolled some. Not nearly as easily as a gear drive tractor in neutral, but it does roll a bit of the brake is off or the loader isn't down. I think any tractor with a hydro does that.

Thanks guys. My buddy’s Kioti operates similarly. I’ll test the Kubota L3902 next.

FYI. I tried the Kubota L3902 and it creeps on a grade. I also talked to a guy with an SA425 and his creeps. The dealer adjusted the fwd/rev pedals. This stopped the rolling. All good now.

It sounds like your Yanmar SA325 is behaving normally for its type. Hydrostatic systems often allow some movement when the pedal is released, especially on slopes. The degree of roll can vary based on the tractor's design and whether it’s in high or low range. If youre finding it excessive, you might want to check if there are any adjustments or upgrades recommended for better holding on slopes.

My Yanmar has two throttles. A hand That you can set the Idle speed and a typical foot pedal that you can Increase, Decrease the Eng. speed. Release the foot pedal and it lowers back to the Idle setting you have it set at. If your having to use a lot of Eng RPM. to keep it from drifting back then that could be a sign of a problem. I would be asking the dealer etc. if it needed to be addressed or a problem then. High RPMs and rolling back is pretty much a sign the Trans. is slipping or a problem. JMO..
