So does Yanmar still make tractors for JD?

No

Kenmack, are you sure? I only asked as I just returned from the Deere dealer moments ago, picking up a part for a friend...and I looked at a brand new 790.
I didn't have time to investigate (open hood) but it sure didn't look like an '06 as there was protective plastic film covering the hood, fenders and seat...

The CBL40 and the 110 are twins.
Just check out the specs, the ones that are different are wording or measurement differences.

AFAIK the 790 and the 990 are still built completely by Yanmar.
A dealer told me this, but that was a year or so ago.

Yanmar does still build for Deere, although Deere is trending away from Yanmar and more towads their engine plant in Mexico. They had an exclusive agreement with Yanmar for several years, that expired recently.

Mark , this is what I'am told by the local deere dealer . They said that the contract is up & yanmar no longer builds their engines. They may still have a few that are left & when they run out there will be no more yanmar engines in deere

Here is the big question though: who will be building the green tractors now? The local Case/IH dealer was worried it would be Kubota but that does not appear to be the case. Anybody know the answer to that?

Look at who has been making them. Most of their compact line has not been Yanmar manufactured in recent years. Some units had components from various mfrs.

Its not a rumor, I spoke with a friend who has a cub dealership and he confirmed it.
Yanmar & cub signed a contract, he said by summer we will see tractors.

I borrowed this off a Cub Cadet board. It was picked up yesterday at a farm show.

I just went to a Home and Garden show in St Louis. The Cub Cadet Rep was there. He was surprised I knew about the Yanmar deal. He said the word from his higher ups was that a 30 hp Hydro would be here this summer. It will 08 before a full line , up to 80hp , arrives . The badge will be like the hat, Cub Cadet over Yanmar.

So does Yanmar still make tractors for JD? I thought it was funny when I saw the CBL 40 (I think that's the model) advertising. It seems it would compete roughly against the JD 110? (I don't know much about the specs of either, but at for me at first glance they seem to compete)

Unless something has changed in 2007, Yanmar engines are still in the smallest 2006-model JD tractors (790, 990, etc), according to the Tractor Blue Book.

This is going to be a different arrangement than with Deere. Yanmar is going to be involved with the mangement & operation of CUT. They are planning on building a tractor factory in Georgia next to their marine engine plant. It is a long term venture leading up to quite a few models from 20-50 hp.

Maybe I shouldn't have asked if it will "help out" the gray market tractor business, but rather should have asked if it will have an "effect" on the Gray Market Yanmars?

I personally think it will. On the "sales" side of it. Competition wise. Used vs. New. $?$?

I sure hope that the importing of the gray market tractors don't stop, nor do I wish for the parts to stop being made. I truly think it is a "unique" type of business- started in one country/ends in another, Many years later.

"A single, man-made machine working for two different countries, traveling through two different origins throughout its entire life".

Thats my definition of "gray market".

Yeah, thats definitely unique in my book.

THATS THE MAIN REASON I CHOSE A GRAY MARKET TRACTOR. Because of such "unique-ness" (if thats a word!).

Yea I have a 'grey market' Yanmar and its a great tractor.Face it the only reason these Yanmar's are being knocked so hard is they sell for about 1/2
or less a comparable 'regular' tractor sold in the US.I'll put mine up against
any tracotor in its class.
