Does anyone have any experience with the F series with single digit? I have a chance to pick up an F 6. It appears to have a shuttle shift. Any info would be helpful.

My customer isn't looking for that. He just wants to mow a few acres and do yard work. One site lists it at 18hp. How close is that?

18-19 Engine HP and about 15.5 at the PTO is what I have heard. I've seen a picture of one with a Yanmar loader, so what I said above about a loader apparently isn't right.

And here is the second one. Nice tractor. I think older than AF** series but newer than FX** series.

Does anyone know what the shifter on the right side is for? I brought it home today. I can feel the shifter make contact but I can't tell that anything is happening. Also, is the 4x4 full time? I can't find a 4x4 shifter.

Jack the tractor up and put it on jack stands. Then try the lever and look at the front wheels to see if they engage.

I did that. I thought it might have a differential between the front and rear and that lever looked it . It didn't. The front wheels are connected to the rear no matter where the lever is set. The lever is going into the box behind the flywheel. It has an offset from the rear of the flywheel down to go under the flat floorpan. The trans is actually in the rear with a driveshaft connecting to the offset below the flywheel. I have my importer locating a parts manual. I should be able to figure more out with it. If anyone knows please speek up .
