Anyone here tried this grapple and/or the third function kit that goes with it?

It looks good to me on paper. Wondering if there's any reason to look aftermarket instead.

My motivating application is moving wallstone. Seems like it would be much more efficient than using chains for pieces too big to scoop up with the bucket:

I use an Everything attachment grapple on my YT359. Love it.

Well, I got one. Seems nice. The Yanmar third function kit was easy to install and everything fits well.

I was thinking of making a claw to add to
the top of my bucket and only using one
hydraulic cylinder in the middle as I only
pick up cactus and branches

Hope it works well for you. My grapple rarely comes off my tractor.

I run an EA Wicked....love it and would not want anything else. Pricey and took a LONG time to ship as they are backed up....but worth the money and wait. However, there are bucket grapples if that is what your looking for...was just pointing that out.

How about an update on how you like your Grapple? I'm about to pull the trigger on the one from Yanmar. Looks well built for the money.

Anyone else using the Yanmar grapple?

It’s been fine. I bent a bunch of the tines moving heavy wall stone but thats verging on abuse of the tool and doesn’t really impair the functionality. Works great for moving logs and also holding them while bucking.

pro tip: remember to disconnect the hydraulic lines when unpinning the grapple from the loader arms. The tractor has more pulling force than the hoses can withstand…
