I am interested in buying a Yanmar AF15 FWD tractor from one of my neighbors. He's asking $5800 for the tractor and a tiller the tractor only has 380hrs showing. Is this a good price? Also I've tried to find information on this tractor online with no luck. The tractor looks to be a newer model with an updated body style and a lot of electronic parts such as the lift controls and the shifting. My question or questions are how can I find out more about this series of tractor and does anyone have any experience with this model? Any information on problems with this tractor would be helpfull also.

#1--where will you get parts?

I'm not saying you can't (though we don't have them for that tractor as far as I know), but make sure YOU know where you're going to get them. Otherwise first major part failure and you have a $5800 lawn ornament. The older units have much better parts accessibility and you can buy a lot more tractor for that kind of money.

Simearl, I have a AF18D, it is a complicated tractor and I would only buy it from a dealer who can support it. Online support will be minimal for quite a few years.

I 've been researching prices on gray market Yanmar tractors and I think your quote is in the ballpark. It may be a little high depending on what the vendor has done to improve the resale value. If you can find that out it would help.

Thanks for the replys...

This tractor does seem to be very complicated. All the PTO controls are electronic. It also is all wheel drive, it can not be switched from 4WD to 2WD.

Can someone help me on what Yanmar tractor to look for I want a 4WD 18 to 20 plus hp tractor for mowing my yard and bushhogging a 4 to 5 acre field. What Yanmar tractors type are more avalible with good parts supply?

Look for 1500D, 1510D, 1600D, 1610D and perhaps the 1700D. The D stands for 4wd. Of course there are the made for US Yanmars too like the 186D and 187D. These are all pretty common models. Wayne (LMTC) can hook you up with a good one!

Sounds like Dade County. There are several dealers in north and central Alabama, plus Tullahoma Tractor. I would try to find a nice YM2000D, plentiful and good parts availability.
