Yanmar 2610
I am new to this forum and tractor ownership. I recently purchased a Yanmar 2610. I noticed some fluid (transmission fluid, maybe?) leaking from a hole beneath the seat (see pictures below). Please give me a hand figuring what this is. Is it a problem? How do I fix it? etc...

Thanks in advance for the help!

Jeff

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: Your bottome pictures shows a plug? Looks a little deformed. Will that come out? You need someone with a 2610 parts manual to look and see what that is.

Do you have this Vent Tube like on my Ym2000 which would be just out of the #1Pic.? Check and see if it's plugged up. When I first bought mine it was clogged by ether a Dirt Devil or a Wasp/Bee. That could cause enough pressure for that to happen. You may not even have it so it's just a Guess. Yanmar Tractor Parts: AXLE BREATHER (VENT) TUBE_

i think it should have a plug in it as it looks to be the end of a shaft, does anyone else have a 2610 that could see if theirs has a plug in it?

Grabbing at straws. JD used Yanmar to make some tractors in the past. You might look at 870 series or maybe the 850 series parts diagrams to see if anything looks familiar. John Deere - Parts Catalog

That is the other end of your PTO shifter shaft. We just got in a 2610D parts tractor so I took a couple pictures of what it has. It looks like your shaft has pulled out of the housing a little.

does that shaft go all the was across ? if so there may be a way to tap it back where it belongs from the other side ??? Just a thought, might even be a way to secure it from the other side,
Aaron can you tell by the parts tractor how it holds the correct position ? just a thought

After looking at our parts tractor again, there is a little cap that goes into the hole where the end of your shaft is visible. Our parts tractor's cap is a loose fit right now so it turns a little with the shaft. I thought it was the end of the shaft I was seeing. The part you need is in stock (link below)
