I turned my tractor off at one of my gates the other day to unlock the gate. When I tried to start it back up it wouldn't do anything. I thought for a minute, then tried the lights they came on bright. I took a screwdriver and jump it across the solenoid post and it cranked ok. When I got back to my place I tried the key again, it wouldn't do anything. I jumped it off with a screwdriver again. The bendicks whined a couple of times then kicked in and spun the starter and it cranked. Bad solenoid right. I stopped by a tractor place that deals with yanmars, he told me to pull the starter off and bring to him. He would check the starter out, new brushes if needed and check the solenoid. Should I just replace the solenoid or take it off and have it checked? It hasn't given me any problems until now. Comments are welcome. THANKS
