Yanmar 17 ???

A friend has asked me about a Yanmar 4x4 model 17 that he found in the back of a JD dealership. He sent a email picture and looks like the typical square front end like 1601 or 1610D models, but I have no information to give him. So before he dives right in a spends $4900 (1500 hours) for the tractor and finish mower, I thought I would ask around. I would appreciate any information you can give me to pass it along.

Not sure what you are asking, Mark? Are we supposed to guess what model it might be, YM1700D, YM1702D, YM1720D, F17D /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif? How about that picture?

Norm,

I have tried repeatedly to resize the picture without success, My pixresizer is currently not responding to resize the email version which of course is too big to post.

So the only information is it is the two hood emblems that typically indicate the model number just have a 17 in the round black badge. Also, the VIN# indicates 17B-12060 and a correction on the hours; 1056.3.

And yes, your best guess is probably better than no information. I have considered the 1700 series as a possibility but thought the model number might ring a bell to someone who has seen or owned one. My intention is to either let him know that it is a bargain or problem.

Thanks, I just got the same offer from Norm a few minutes ago. Obviously I am a bit PC challenged and not posting pictures very often doesn't help. If he (Norm) has trouble I will certainly give it a shot.

As you can see it has the generic "YANMAR DIESEL" hood decals.....so not much to go on.

I'm not particularly PC savvy myself! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

For resizing pictures, I use PictureIt! by Microsoft. I like it for a couple of reasons. 1) It came with the computer /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. 2) I don't need to have to do any mathematical calculations to figure out the size of the pic. When the picture opens in PictureIt!, it automatically shows what size it is. If it's too big, you use the resize feature by just typing one of the measurements you want. I always start with the 800 from the 800 X 600 dimensions that usually represent a 100K pic. Then the software automatically adjusts the other measurement for you. And it keeps the entire picture in the proper perspective too! I just save the new pic, check it's size again, and if it's still too big, just do the same steps I just reviewed until the pic is under 100K. It's about the easiest I've found for a person who isn't that sharp with PC's! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I think you can download PictureIt! right from Microsofts download site. Don't know what the cost might be, as I didn't have to buy it.
