yanmar 1610 tractor

New to tractors, how often do the valves have to be adjusted [ hours of operating ] and does any one have a procedure and specs for this 3 cyl motor.

The manual says every 600 hours they should be checked/set. I don't know many people that do that though. They set at 0.008" INT/EXH.
