Yanmar 1510 Problems going into reverse...

I have an occasional problem getting the tractor to go into reverse. When shifting into reverse sometimes I will have to move shift lever all the way forward into the highest gear and then return it to reverse to get it to work. Once it shifts into reverse it works perfectly as it should. I would appreciate any and all help with this problem...Thanks!

Sloppy linkage. Take off the sheet metal and adjust the linkage so the transmission positions match the gate (notch) positions that you see while driving.

Is this a column-shift? They have more places that can get sloppy.
