I am thinking of buying a used X750 with a 48" deck. Looking at the specs it seems like it would fit in a pickup bed.

The distance between my wheel wells is 50.5" and the bed length is 78" Tractor Data shows X750 length at 75" and width at 47". I would be taking off the grass chute.

My question is am I missing something and if not should I be backing it on? I assume the back tires weigh more than the front so I want that weight near the cab.

My trucks payload is 1780 pounds so that should be no problemo.

Any suggestions for ramps would be appreciated.

I suspect the deck is wider than 50” even with chute deflector tipped up or removed. If backing on be sure to tie the hood down so it doesn’t tip up and get tore off. Might want to tie seat so doesn’t bounce around also.

Can you back into a ditch to load and unload. Not sure on tailgate strength for that load either.

Definitely would have forgotten to secure the chair and hood. Thanks! Will be removing the tailgate when loading.

I hope it fit between 50". If not and I need a trailer for ANY 48" machine I will probably change my search to a 54" deck.

When I hauled the X744 diesel w/62" deck I removed the deck and loaded frontwards. I removed the tailgate and used the curved aluminum ramps I had. I even did the loading in an area so the angle was less (like a ditch). I installed the tailgate and tied down the mower deck on to it. I have a 8' box on my truck.

If you leave the deck on you will need some long ramps to get angle low so the deck doesn’t catch or high center when loading if not loading in a ditch.

Like ruff dog I think you would be better off removing the deck.

For what it's worth.....

I am curious, are you looking to go pickup your mower from a dealer or other source and intend to just bring the mower home and do not have any intentions of ever hauling the mower again?

OR

Do you see yourself hauling the mower more often using just your truck?

If this is just a one time deal, why not just rent a trailer for this one occasion.
