Hi Folks,

I have been looking at the X730 with a 54" deck and just wanted to know what some of you have paid. My local John Deere dealer had quoted me $9800.00 and that includes the AutoConnect drive on deck. I am thinking this is not the prime time for lawn tractor sales and the deals should be fairly aggressive?

My current 316 has served me well for 22 years, but would like to upgrade and hopefully this X730 is up to the task. Its only use will be cutting my 1.75 acre lawn.

Thanks

TM

Why not a Z turn?

My lawn has about .5 acre hill that would not be very Z turn friendly. I had thought about one, but most people who see the property agree no zero turn.

Thanks,

TM

Sounds like a pretty good price.

Your right, now is the time to buy, for two reasons.

First, stale inventory. The dealerships can't afford to keep stale inventory around, and often get scolded by the manager for doing so. They want the machine gone as much as the next person to make room for next years models. Keep in mind, this isn't ALWAYS the case. The X700 series sell well all year long. The summer crowd buy it for mowing and other summer related tasks, and winter shoppers are looking for a snow removal machine.

Second, your schedule. I bought my 2012 X740 in February of 2013. I purchased ahead of the spring crowd. My tractor was home, ready to go to work before the weather was nice. When you buy ahead of your own personal busy season, you know that the first nice day you get, your ready to work! You don't want to be shopping when spring is in full swing and salesman have more customers then they want, making for a dull pencil when haggling time comes. If you purchase before the spring crowd, your appealing to the salesman's sense of desperation. His numbers are way down, inventory is high. They need to move machines for the good of the entire system, even though some salesman will never admit this.

I purchased in February and not a single person walked into the dealership besides me for the entire 2 hour period I was there. I went back to the same dealership the first week of April to grab some accessories, and the place was insane. People were standing around the showroom, waiting in line to speak to Salesman. When salesman have so many potential clients, they tend to not care about your own personal budget. Good luck convincing a salesman to agree to your price, when there is 10 guys behind you waiting for a chance to sign their name to that shiny new machine on the floor.

Have you checked the Buy Online Pricing and / or the Build Your Own.
John Deere: Buy Online -

$9800 looks close to 15% off (mental math) so not a bad start. Didn't look up to verify, - the Auto Connect is about $250
If interested looks like 0% for 60 months is still on to Jan 02/14.

With 0% financing, I would hop on that boat.

Get whatever you want now. If you want a front quick hitch and blade or snow-blower, add it into the deal.

Congratulations.
Unless you also decide to get a Blade / Blower, you'll have 4 months to wax and gaze at it fondly.

Congratulations! I have a 2012 x720 and love the tractor. I actually look forward to mowing my yard with it. I recently got a CTC loader for my and have found it to be very useful for clearing my brush in the back and for snow removal. I got 450# on the back and it will go anywhere. They are tough little tractors. By the way, I grew up in the Glens Falls area.

Thats sure is a nice machine. Im jealous! I hope I can upgrade my 425 to a x730 someday. I like tractor mowers better than zero turns because they can do so much more than just mow.
