If looking at a BX, you should look at the B series Kubota's. They have much more ground clearance so you aren't getting into the famed HST fan shredding if you get an unlucky stick sticking up. I don't believe them to be much more expensive than a BX. If a bit bigger size doesn't matter to you, I would be looking at the B23xx or B26xx series. I don't think you gain anything in the B29xx series unless you plan to do some heavy PTO work as the tractor isn't heavy enough to utilize much more than the 23 HP. They also have much larger tires for a bit smoother ride and better traction. My daughter has a B2930 with MM mower and mows her yard with it, son in law uses the tiller and middle buster to make up his garden all without removing the mower deck.
I think you would be much happier doing ground engaging work with it rather than a 1 series JD or a BX.

Anyone with experience know if an x500 has the sack and ability to rip up a gravel drive? I need to rip my top layer to repair pot holes that I'm tired of patching. Thanks

Don't see any reason it wouldn't if set up right. Filled tires,chains,wheel weights,sleeve hitch, and a Brinly box blade with two 18" digger shanks mounted on the tongue. I set the shanks to dig 2-3" lower than the blade to dig through the potholes.Work the drive after an inch of rain.

There's a curveball! Haha. Well I would go larger but this is primarily a mower. 2 acres with acces to 7 acres of woods to cut up dead/fallen trees. I heat with wood 24/7 in the winter so it will be used to move firewood. Entire house needs regrading around foundation and I have a nice patch needing re graded and a trench dug for water flow direction. Also going to have a 20'x30-40' garden once I remove some ornamental trees and their root system . But 90% of the time this will be a mower and snow removal machine

Also anyone think the mahindra max25 is to heavy for mowing ? Mowin is obviously a big concern for me. I plan on this purchAse to be an all around property maintainer.

Another quick question . I have read a lot of negative feed back on kubotas 3pt hitch control. This is important to me as I intend to keep my driveway in good shape with this purchase. Is the 1 series that much more superior in this department?
