So my Dad has an X320 that he bought new 5ish years ago. It ran completely fine last fall when he parked it with stabilizer in the fuel. He went to start it last week, it grunted and turned over weakly one time then nothing. Battery tested bad so a new one was obtained and installed (NAPA has them on sale at the writing of this post). Now it won't do anything. The hour meter doesn't come on, the lights don't work, and it won't crank. No clicking, no noise, nothing. I thought it might be a dead new battery so I tried to jump it and had the same result. I tested with a multimeter and have voltage all the way through and the ground looks good. Anyone else had this issue? Any thoughts?

"You have voltage all the way through"
What does that mean? Through the battery or through the ignition and starter solenoid.

Did you check the fuses?

Check safety switches, (seat, brake, pto off)

I tested both and the fuses.

Put the new battery on a charger for a couple hours or use it to start something else to rule out dead/weak battery. Make sure your terminals are clean. After re-installing charged battery with clean terminals use a multimiter to check that voltage is getting to the starter celinoid.

Possibilities:
Mouse chewed a wire and the first time your dad tried to start it finished off the wire. Often when someone said it ran fine when I parked and then..yada yada.... a mouse becomes as suspect.
or could be the starter is huffed - take it to Napa and have them test it

If it is the starter or the chewed wire... jumping it would not work obviously.

It would seem that a fuse terminal or B terminal on the ignition switch could be suspect. Be careful jump starting and put the ground on the engine block or frame. Too much stray voltage can pop the ECU if it isn't already.

I know this sounds basic but verify that you have the terminals on correctly.

Sorry, no. My dad is in the hospital, I haven't had a chance to mess with it.

Sorry to hear about your dad.. I'm sure the mower is the last thing on your mind.

Dad finally out of UC hospital and in a local rehab unit which gave me a chance to look at the mower.

It was a burnt 15 amp fuse. I'd never seen one blow like this, it was just barely burnt and couldn't be seen if it was slightly dark. I couldn't even get a picture to show. Once I pulled it out to the sunlight I could see just a hint of black. Replaced fuse and she started right up. Thanks to all who responded with suggestions.
