X300 with a 48" deck?

I'm searching for a new mower and am looking hard at the x300. Is the 18.5 kaw strong enough to handle the 48" deck? In a perfect world I would buy the x320 and be done with it but I can't spend the extra $$. Any input is welcome! Thanks!

If money is tight consider buying a good used mower with a better transmission than the x300 has. That or buy a cheaper box store mower and plan on replacing it in short order, don't really recommend that either.

Really hope you can find a few extra coins to get an x310 or higher model.
