x 728 weight

Does anyone know what the front axel would weigh on a x 728 4 wheel drive with a 62'' deck? I purchased a mower lift that said it would lift 550 lbs. but it didn't make an attempt.

With or without the mower deck on?

The deck is pretty heavy by it's self, probably 225 ~ pounds maybe even more. The tractor is 955 pounds.

With the deck on. Not sure if thwere is a way to figure just the front axel as that is all that the lift will be lifting?

Lifts me jsut fine. 175 lbs.

I would guesstimate 40 - 50% 0f the total machine weight would be on the front axle.

Did you try assisting the lift to see if it was close to lifting the front end?

In 2006, the x728 weighed 1199lbs (SE is 1244lbs) with the 62" deck.

Yes and did not seem to help. Called the company and they said it could be the jack as it is a 2 ton. But at where the wheels go it is conciderbly less. I removed the jack and placed it under my pickup and it lifted the rear with no problem. The manufactor said it was probably too heavy and that the jack was just bypassing. So I guess I will just take it back and try to find some other jack or way of lifting this heavy tracto/mower. I have used a 1.5 ton hyd. jack for many years and when I used it to lift my mower I could tell that there was quite a bit of weight there because of the amount of force it took to jack it up.
