The problem with UTV is they are too big to transport them long distances. They are great at a farm but not the best for hunting. I suggested to our son to get two seater ATV and a trailer big just enough to transport it. Then it could pull the trailer if need. I think such set up is more practical for his purpose. Opinion welcomed.

That's what I liked about the discontinued Rhino, it would fit in a pickup, now all, or most UTV's need to be trailed, so now you need to hook the UTV trailer behind the camper trailer, so where does the boat go?

The local AG tax is 3% here in my part of California... that is what was due on the Kubota which is much less than the nearly 10% had it not been AG

Question... so the 2013 825i Gator I'm looking at has a California Title and is plated for street use... the seller must report the sale since the unit is titled... so do you guys get to pay AG tax or NO tax if you buy a vehicle for the farm with a license plate for road use and titled (Pink Slip)

On a separate note... all ATV, RTV etc. sold new in California are registered by the State without exception with two year renewals... those not renewing face penalties which compound.

It was like the 1996 F150 Pickup I bought from an elderly man that could no longer see well enough to drive... the back fees and penalties were almost $1300 to the State of California... there were no tickets as the vehicle was parked the entire time in the man's garage... he just let the tags lapse.

Eddie... does your Mule have the 3 cylinder Chinese engine?

Eddie... does your Mule have the 3 cylinder Chinese engine?

I don't know for sure, I thought it was a 2 cylinder Kawasaki engine with fuel injection. I have had a recurring issue with it that the dealer has taken care of every time. They say it's carbon build up on some smog device that Kawasaki admits is their fault and has fixed in the newer models. If my memory is correct, the last time I brought it in, they upgraded mine to the new device, but it's been over a year and I just don't remember the details. The problem is that when you start it, it revs high and then idles high for a long time, then when it warms up, it idles rough and so low that it will sometimes die if you are just parked.

We drove it down to the pond last night for an hour of fishing before dark and it was awesome. It's not a far walk, but with poles and tackle box, it's just very nice to jump in the Mule and go. We also have the plastic windshield on it from Amazon that cost around $40. That's one of the best things ever. It's three years old and getting a little foggy to look through. Next year when it cools off again, I'm going to spend the big money and get a good glass one. Or plexiglass or whatever is solid that can be washed. Not having that cold wind hitting you in the face, or rain, is really nice. My mom drives it every day to get the mail. It's 800 feet to the road, she is 74, and having that windshield keeps her dry regardless of the weather.

Far as I know the Mule Pro FXT is the only model that Kawasaki uses the Chery engine.
John Deere the same engine in the Gator 825i.

Eddie I missed it but is that hydraulic dump and is it aftermarket or dealer? I'm looking at buying the same machine you have. How much did you pay? Best price I have found is 10,400.

I'm going off of memory, but I think I bought the Mule for $8,500 and the hydraulic lift was found online. Maybe ebay. I think it was about a grand. The roof was from Kawasaki and it was something like $800. I wasn't going to get the lift when I bought the Mule. I didn't think there was a need for it. But then my mom took it out, filled it up with sticks that she picked up around the place to get the burn piles going, and she couldn't get them out of the bed. I quickly realized that if I'm going to keep her happy helping out around the place, I needed to get her a hydraulic lift!!!!

Yes, brand new in 2012. Kawasaki 4010 Transmule 4x4 with fuel injection and power steering.

Tested the 825i this afternoon between rain showers... like everything about it except the high rpm/cvt

Handled very well and felt solid up to the 38mph I drove it... sound was great at idle... cruising, I kept thinking a plane was taking off...

Sister in law liked it... I just have a hard time with the high RPM needed.

No Power Steering and steered very easy with DOT approved tires... no idea off road in 4wd low range as everything was flat.
