Work Light

I have a 2010 X300. My third JD mower and I love it. I purchased from Deere a work light (12v). I have no tail lamps on this lawn tractor. The install instructions are not clear at all. Can it be installed with a seperate switch on the dash, or does it have to tie into the head lamp wire. Either way, I need some guidance because the instructions are really poor.

try napa auto parts, they have a work light that has a switch built in, no need for a separate switch, I think they run around $25.00, Thats my plan.
