I'd knock the 2' - 4' grass down with the bush hog before I did any finish mowing. 1 - 2' is my limit for the finish mower.

I run an 84 inch on a 50hp tractor. I try to cut down to 2.5 inches tall and won't cut anything over 8-10 inches. If it's approaching 1 ft tall grass I raise the deck an inch.

I also try to mow at a pretty quick speed when I can

Got the new blades I ordered Friday for the RD8400 today and took a few minutes to change them out.

I don't know, think I can dress them up and get another season

I ran mine till they were splitting in half at the wing and wouldn't cut the full width

They got probably 3 or 4 years left in em
