Seeders Woods overseeder

I recently kill my acre and quarter lawn by mistake and was going to try to overseed it. I can rent a str72 woods overseeder. If anyone would have any experience using this overseeder or any overseeder for that matter would be appreciated. Any info on how, when or the situation you needed to overseed would be helpful. Also any info about lawn estabishment would be great. For some history I grabbed the Gordon's Pronto weed and grass killer which is like roundup by mistake two weeks ago and the rest is history.
