Bit late to this party, but wanted to comment on the King Kutter tiller. I'm very happy with mine. I have a 48" that I use with a Kubota B2620 (19.5hp PTO). Purchased it in 2008. Don't use it a lot, but it's always worked great. But here's the better part of the story..
If you are on the west coast there's a good chance the dealer will be pushing Gearmore attachments. When I bought my Kubota in 2008, they quoted me $2300 for the Gearmore 48" tiller. I went to TSC and they had the King Kutter 48" for $1200. So I questioned the dealer on this, and he basically said Gearmore was high quality and King Kutter was cheap crap. I researched a bit more and noticed the glossy brochures for both the Gearmore and the King Kutter showed the exact same specs for all 4 widths of the tiller. Same available widths, same weights, same HP requirements, same number of tines. They looked an awful lot alike too. Then I found the manual and parts diagrams for both. The parts were identical, right down to the part numbers. So essentially these were the same tillers, but with different paint jobs (the King Kutter's was kind of shotty with lots of drips) and different PTO shafts. Needless to say I bought the King Kutter.
Fast foward almost 14 years. Now I'm looking for a flail mower. Called the same dealer. Quoted $4350 for a 48" Gearmore. Well, I balked at the price and started looking at the online tillers, including Woodmaxx and Betstco, which are both a lot cheaper. Haven't made up my mind which yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm not buying the Gearmore. Although probably good quality, I just can't justify the cost for the amount of use it will get.
