Wives using the tractor

My baby sister is pretty good with a Case 580K. She can work the extend-hoe pretty darn good, whether there's a bucket or a rotary hammer/jack hammer mounted.

My wife didn't touch the Kubota for a year after its purchase, but once she discovered how easy it was to mow the meadow I found her putting around quite often. The sight of her braid swinging over the SMV emblem always brings a smile to my face. Pete in Vermont

Boondox, a not uncommon accident is long hair getting caught in a chain/sprocket, PTO, V-belt, etc. Not pretty in the ER and can be fatal. BE CAREFUL, a braid down to the SMV is pretty long.

My wife enjoys using the tractor and I like seeing her on it. I agree with RCH though, watch the long hair and loose clothes. I'm both anxious and nervous about my sons getting old/big enough to operate the tractors in the coming years. I plan on lots of safety talks.

Going a little off topic here but....
One thing I've noticed is youngsters love to "do what Daddy does". Probably the best safety talk we can give our kids is showing them safety by example.

Well when I got married 4 years ago My wife being from L.A. She thought she was farming on the riding mower.. So now she mows the pasture and does a nice job. ( and this is on 70's tech)

One thing I was thinking when I was a kid Learning tractors, My father was a union operator for over 30yrs and an Army instructor for heavey equipment. With all that said I think Dave said it right show by example.. When I got older to understand the finer things I was instructed but the basics I just watched and learned.. I think kids in general take a tractor alot more serious then say a four wheeler..

Bill,
I have to say my wife probably uses my tractor more than I do. Since she's a school teacher she's off during the summer so she does most of the grass cutting. She likes mine so much she now want's a little one for her own. This tractor buisiness is getting expensive!

Well my wife just read my post here and quickly corrected me. She doesn't want a little Kubota, she want's the biggest one they make! Guess I'll have to start saving up for the M120!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
