T474
Hi
I have a low hour T474 with Cab.
Ive suddenly lost power to the Sterio and gauge cluster for wipers and front/rear spot lights. But still have functioning Heat/AC also ceiling mount controller.

I hit a bump, and all came back on..
Hit another bump, yup.. off the 2 went again.

The mystery is that I've chased ground to each controller- (good)
Chased power wire to both controllers and getting 12v to both harness plugs.

After 12 hours of chasing wires, im considering a 5 gallon jug of gas and a match!! 🤣

Any advice would sure be appreci5

Thank you

Sounds like a break in insulation & intermittent short or a broken wire that sometimes lets the electrons flow so intermittent open. Nothing to do but trace the circuits or see if a power probe can help determine the general area in the harness where the problem is occurring. Any mouse sign? Depending on how the stereo is related to the gauge cluster you may want to check for common grounds or feeds in the dash as well. Not sure if they use circuit boards in those circuits but if so, could be some cold solder joints on the board.

If under warranty, & you have something else to use (or don't need) maybe let the dealer waste their time tracking. Not economical if your warranty is up.

Check the fuses for any loose one. Sometimes the terminals on the fuse block aren't tight enough and the fuse pretty much loose in the fuse box causing all kinds of weird behavior.

My advice: Move the tractor outside before striking the match😁

Feel your pain to a small extent. My wiring harness on my T254 under the dash has numerous spots where vibration has worn through the insulation and exposed bare wires. To the point in one case last winter the pto would engage on its own. Wrapped what I could with tape and it has been working better. Still have some other things to chase down when the weather is warmer. Just another thing for which to look.

Have a similar issue with my T264, in my case it's just the rear work lights not working, What's the easiest way to get into the overhead console and check for power, The fuse I believe is common to both front and rear at last check none that I could find were blown.

The TYM service manuals typically have a colored wiring schematic, which makes working on the wiring much easier. Check and see if they have your service manual available for download on the TYMWorld website. If they don't, which is more likely than not, there is a form you can fill out and request it. I've gotten PDFs of service and parts manuals from TYM that way. You can buy printed copies of most manuals through the dealers. But, I prefer the PDF because I can print out the pages covering what I'm working on, and take them into the shop, and not have to care about getting them greasy or torn.
