I have an L35 that currently lights the glow plug indicator light on the dash intermitantly while running, sometimes it goes out after 10 seconds or so and sometimes I have to shut off the key several times to get it to go out. I just worry that it will fry the glow plugs or the alternator (assuming the plugs are acctually heating up with the dash light indicator bulb). I have done some searches on here however I cannot find anything that explains in detail how to convert the system to a manual glow plug activation. I have a momentary switch and a solenoid to convert it but Im not sure how to wire it correctly for sure. Can someone please lend their time to explain how to do this? I would like the dash light to illuminate also while operating the glow plug switch. I would like to first try using the factory relay and just change the wiring of the controller but if that doesnt work I will install the solenoid also.

Thanks in advance for your time,

Hutch

You don't need another glow plug relay... You have one already there.
The glow plug controller is going bad.... All that the controller does is apply ground to the coil of the glow plug relay.
Use your momentary switch to apply ground to the glow plug relay coil, all the other wiring will be the same as it is. KennyV
