Wiring a sprayer to a B7800

I just got a 15 gallon sprayer with a 12 volt pump and I need to wire it to my B7800. I suppose the easy way would be to use the alligator clips straight from the battery but I was hoping to find a solution where I can have a plug at the back of my tractor for it. It uses different shaped plugs than Kubota so I can't just borrow one from one of the rear lights or signals. It seems that I will need to either find a junction that I can tie into or splice into a wire somewhere. I would rather not have to turn on the lights or turn signal or something like that whenever I want to spray so I guess I need to find an unswitched wire to tap into. Any suggestions on doing this? It's probably a pretty easy task but I am just searching for the cleanest and easiest way. Thanks.

With my B7610 I got the Kubota Work Shop Manual. I just looked at the wiring diagram for the B7410, B7510, and B7610.

The diagram shows the solid Red wires are +12 V. hot line. This lne is protected by the 30 Amp fuse. The line is Red on both sides of the fuse.

They all also show a connector for a "Working Lamp." Now, I have no idea where that plug is on my tractor and it is currently dark outside. I'm going to look in the morning though.

But, the "Working Lamp" is an ignition key switched circuit protected by a 20 Amp fuse. You could use this line. The line from the fuse block to the "Working Lamp" is a Red/Blue wire. The diagrams show no other accessories on this circuit. Seeing how the circuit is the same on the three models smaller than your B7800, I'll bet it's also on your tractor.

My 3130 has a small, spare plug behind the seat that is fed by a yellow and black wire. It looks like it runs off of one of the tail lights. I asked the dealer about it and he said it was to wire additional lights to and is switched on with the factory lights.
I carry my 25 gallon tank in the FEL, so attaching a couple of clips to the battery is no big deal fo all the use it sees. I read where someone on the forum mounted a cigarrette plug into the fender for 12v power. Pretty slick I think.

I'm not sure on the B7800, but it's probably about the same place as it was on my B2710; under the seat on the right side. Mine came with the end taped to another wire, so it was a little harder to find. And the B2710 had the small toolbox under the seat that I removed to find that wire under the toolbox.

I found 'turning-on-the-lights' to be the handiest on/off switch when running my sprayer (from my yard tractor). Also, was easy to just tap into the rear tail-light wire with a conector. But sounds like you are getting help finding the pigtail in the harness, so then you will just need to hook up a switch. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I agree with Bird on the location of the aux power feed for the B series. You can also use this feed for extra rear lighting.

I spliced the female end of a trailer lite connector into the aux power feed under the seat. I then spliced the male end to the sprayer pump. Works fine. You could also splice in an of/off switch if you want but on most sprayers the pump will run only when necessary. At least my Fimco does since it is only an on demand RV style pump.

My approach was similar to a couple already posted. I used the spare wire under the seat to feed a couple switches for auxiliary lighting. The rear work light is connected with a two-wire trailer connector. When I use the sprayer, I just unplug the rear light and plug the sprayer in. When using the wand, the switch is left in the "on" position and the demand pump turns itself on and off. When using the nozzles on the arms, I use the switch to run the pump.

My sprayer started out as a 15 gallon tow-behind. It was very awkward to back up because of the short distance between the tractor and the wheels on the trailer. I jacknifed it hard enough to put a small crack in the tank where one of the insert nuts was embedded in the plastic tank. The repair didn't last too long. This year I welded up a 3PH frame for a vertical plastic barrel and remounted the pump, arms, wand, etc to it. Wow, what a difference in the ease of use. Being part of the tractor, it is so much easier to move about.............chim

Here is what I did to my B2910 (which is now officially my neighbors's B2910). I added a "cigarette lighter" plug to the wiring on the end of my sprayer wiring. I then epoxied a "cigarette lighter" power outlet to the back of the tractor. The outlet is weather resistent and designed for mounting in the back of a pick up truck, it has a weather cap to keep it dry. I think it cost about $12.

I also added a switch to the dash. The dash switch allows me to turn the sprayer on and off as needed.

I did a similar install on my New Holland tractor.

Thanks for all the info and pics. They gave me a few good ideas for a nice solution. Now I just have to wait for the rain to stop so I can get out there and do it.

Just finished doing a similar hook up on a B7500.

Found 2 wires at back of seat, going up to tail lights, one black with a lug connection and the other Red with a bullit connection. Traced them back to a 15 amp fuse labeled "Work Light". Changed the lug connection to a flat 1/4" spade and that part of job was done.

Ran wires from the Kubota wiring up to a switch I mounted on fender. From switch ran a loop of wire to sprayer pump with a 2 terminal trailer connector. When not in use wire is secured to fender with a Velcro tie.
