wire welder suggestions?

MM140SL, Welder, "Muscle Mig" Wire Feed

I ordered one in December and am still waiting on it. I know of only 2 people that own one and they said they like them better than any other 110v welder they have ever used and many 220v welders. Check out the specs on it. Just don't look at the price.

There are some models that have auto input switching and can be plugged into 120V or 240v single phase. The max output drops with the 120v compared to the 240v naturally, but that is the only down side.

More money does buy more welder and a better one. Mostly with options for things like TIG or Al welding with a puller handle.

I agree that Miller makes probably some of the finest perfoming units. I bought a Hobart 140 first thinking that accessability to 110 v was convenient. If all you are going to weld is fairly thin material this will be fine. Even before using it, I was having doubts, so I returned it unopened to TSC and purchased the Hobart 187 and have been very satisfied. Do purchase and use gas. The appearance is night and day. This welder will do about 75% of my needs.Then I have to go back the the stone age of an arc unit.
