Winter Shelter Help

Has anyone on here ever put up a ShelterLogic building? I'm looking at both a 24Lx22Wx10H' and a 28Lx13Wx12H.

It looks like the online reviews are pretty good. I want to have something to store the tractor in year round and thought that if its good enough for the tractor is would be good enough for a make shift garage until I decide to build the real shop.

Any thoughts?!

My wife and I just finished erecting (assembling?) a 12X20 ShelterLogic tarp building on Saturday. Don't believe what it says about it taking two people a couple of hours!
We managed to put it in a relatively sheltered spot, so the 100km winds we had yesterday didn't carry it away! The clearance on our building is too low for me to drive the tractor in, because of the cab...which also means it isn't easy to put implements in there. The ones you are thinking about are the RV size and would work better for a tractor.
I think two critical factors in any tarp building are (1) how taut the cover is (you don't want flapping AT ALL) and (2) how well-anchored the building is. I think there is room for improvement on both counts in my installation.
Even if I can get things taut and anchored really well, I don't expect the building to last more than two or three years... especially considering that I'm not likely to go out during snowstorms and sweep the snow off the roof several times a day!

I have a tarp shelter and the only negative about it is lots of moisture. Builds lots of ice inside in the winter.

I was given a Shelter Logic 20X22X10 garage. I got it because everything the original owner put in it stayed wet all the time. I set it up and parked a van in it for many months while I repaired it. Everything rusted and molded. I now have it up on ten foot high posts and it makes a great roof (if I keep knocking the snow off of it so it doesn't get smashed). I park my tractor under a 10X20 fabric carport with no ends. That works okay. These structures work if very well ventilated. If you live in an arid desert, it would probably be okay. I live in the opposite conditions.

I don't know if what I have is the same brand, but I have a round top that works well for parking my tractor. I purchased it from Menards a few years ago (12x20x10).
The round top sheds snow well. Once or twice a winter I plow the snow along side of it.
It does have some icing, but not too much.
I believe I paid $300 something for it, and would recommend it. It was a bugger to put together by myself, but was able to do so in a few hours.

So they offer an accessory kit of vents. Do you guys think that would help your icing and moisture problem?

I bought one of the Shelter logic kits a couple years back and it has been great! I put a crushed stone base down and building it self is the Gamble Roof style. It came with the anchors and vents for the doors. It is farily well sheltered and is tight and level. Looks like the day I put it up and makes a nice remote tractor home!

There were, like, 100 MPH winds there July 1, the airport there had a collapsed hangar. Tens or hundreds of thousands of trees down all over the place. And that building held up?

Yup, no problems. Although for whatever reason my property was left nearly untouched by the storm: I had a couple small, dead trees fall. I found insulation in my yard from a house that was destroyed by the tornado, yet the only thing out of place in my yard was an ice cream bucket I use to measure charcoal for the grill.

The Shelter Logic building I had didn't hold up well at all. Within the first month it broke one of the bolts holding it together during a high wind. Once one part was loose, the rest quickly destroyed itself over the space of one night.

In my experience, it was a waste of money.
