What's everybody doing to their tractors this winter? For those that have winter...

I'm going to rebuild my BM480 deck. It will include sandblasting the entire deck, powder coating it once stripped, rebuilding the spindles and replacing every nut and bolt with stainless units. Bye, bye rust!

You?

I'm going to make a second attempt to install the hydraulic tilt onto the 3PL,
The first time didn't go so well:cool: I had a problem where I tried to locate the remote, Now I have found another place and actually more convenient to reach and out of the way from the lift arms, also a better straight line position for the hydraulic lines into the cylinder,;) Hope to have it working by spring,
Incidentally ..... I had to weld a ball socket onto the top of the cylinder so it would fit over the pin, I tried to weld in short intervals and let cool, But a couple of times I could smell rubber, what is the chances I might have toasted the seals? I have not yet test it with oil inside, although I have cap off the ports and cannot budge the cylinder in or out manually,

Let's see:
Oil and filter
fuel filter
right brake shoes and brake drum oil seal (leaking tranny fluid).
new seat
replace cheesy spotlights on fenders made of plastic and keep coming off.
get horn working.
replace original headlight bulbs.
And maybe some paint and bodywork might be in order.
And forgot another: rear drive shaft seal is leaking.

It'll all be after Christmas though, Aaron, so you can hold off on salivating 'til after New Years. ;0)

Not sure this could classify as a winter project but here is what I have been up too. First two pictures of my old toolbox arrangement which got hit too many times when my quick hitch goes to extreme height - last four of my new arrangement. Might wonder about the tach numbers in last picture. My old tach is not real accurate so those are corrected numbers using a Harbor Freight hand held tach. I use different pto gears in some situations and like to know how fast things are spinning. Things look a little crowded around the seat but I actually fit in there pretty good. One more thing, the 2x4 going across the fenders helps dampen the fender vibration I experience at certain rpms. Enough! :D

I did all of my maintenance over the summer so all i have to do is polish up the hood every so often. I am in the midst of selling my yanny though, it will be sad to see it go but I need to upgrade to something bigger. ;)

Was thinking yall only had a few acres which at least half was woods. I knew you always are grating a dirt road but what do you need a bigger tractor for? I know we all want one but just curious about your needs?

Clemson... don't ya know he's a growing Boy, it's probably more him outgrowing the 169 rather than the size of his property, ;) .... myself being 6.2 230 lbs I could understand , Sometimes my 1700 seems a might cramped:cool: although I have made a few modifications to help with being more comfortable on it, custom seat bracket let the seat back further, a different steering wheel that brings it up higher for more lap clearance, wider/larger foot running boards, as well as the padding wrapped around the ROPS so that my elbows don't hit quit as hard when I turn to looked toward the rear to backup.:D
