Winter in Central Texas

/ Winter in Central Texas #2
Yeah, I had a load of wood for a nice fireplace fire for Christmas, but ended up turning on the A/C. First time ever.

I'd say there's a good chance of a small, or no, fruit crop in Texas this year. And I would never have thought about the snakes being out.

I should have turned the A/C on but there was a nice breeze so I opened the windows and wore shorts.

It has been ridicules warm down here. It was 80F two days in a row and then in the mid to upper 70's for the last week. I went deer hunting on the backside of my 69 acres a few days ago. I climbed up in the tree stand down there, before daylight, and a buck grunted behind me. I grunted back and he came up directly behind me (and the tree). Varmint then started doing the wheeze snort act. I was busted. it's so warm that I was sweating a little just getting up the stand. Cover scent doesn't do a whole lot of good when it's this warm. He lived to grunt again another day. I don't like it being this warm this time of the year. If a heavy cold front moves in, we usually get a few tornadoes.
