Winch dump trailer build

Lots of great info and suggestions here guys, thank you. I wish I had started with 2x4 wood for the arms when I was trying to figure out lengths.

Here is we're I'm at with this as of today. You have to remember I wanted something lite that t I could pull around my yard with my atv as well as being hyway ready, also really hopped it could haul 1 yard of rock or gravel. (Tall order for a 3000lb trailer).

Anyways, here is we're I'm at. I went all out with the first test, it's about .8 of a yard of mixed gravel. Honestly I was pretty nervous something was going to let go but t held up fine!

Nice, looks like you have that folding arm geometry figured out, that dump should come in handy a lot.

My self made dump trailer measures 5 x 9 and has stake pockets.

The "Hinge" is the trailer axle wheel bearings.

I modified a camper jack to raise the bed for tilt.

Works well but I cannot go vertical for two reasons...

1. The rear overhang will hit the ground at about 50 degrees

2. The camper jack has limited lift range.

As long as you can dump out gravel/dirt, I'd still call it a success. When you get a change grab a pic of that folding lift arm, I might want to make something like your trailer sometime.
