My condolences Willy! You do have 56 years of memories though - should be lots of positive in that and seeing her go quickly and peacefully has to good as well. I just lost of brother who was fighting Prostrate cancer for 30 years and the best part of it once it took control it was quick and we didn't have to see him as an invalid. Similarly you should be able to remember her as wonderful to the end and that is worth a lot.
