Rhanks Agriman...those last three you mentioned were what I found doing some research... If I recall it, too much fertilizer and over seeding can cause the stems to decompose pre-maturely. We've had a relatively dry summer in Northern Maine...dry by local weather standards anyway. We did have some wet weather recently which may have been one of a few contributing factors. It's a tenuous business this farming.
