Will JD 72" belly mower for 4000 series fit 855?

The 72" belly mower that came with our used 855 is shot. We're looking for another and see a nice one that is for the 4500-4600-4700. Looks real similar. Think it'll work?

Do a side by side comparison with a tape measure. I haven't seen either unit you have seen both.

The thing to check is the gearbox ratio. Your 855 mid pto is probably 2100 rpm and the gear ratio is 1:1. Where are you located? I have a 72" JD mid mower from my 1070 that I don't use/want anymore. Such a deal could be had..

We're in Eastern Iowa. Haven't seen the one for the 4000, though -- it's on ebay. Will check the gearbox thingy (can you tell I'm not the expert on this? ) Thank you!!!

Cant answer your question but the 4510-4710's take a different 72" mower than the 4110-4410's.

It appears that the answer is "no, the mower decks from the 4000 series will not fit the 755,55,955,1070 series." The central arm on the former is offset slightly and there may be other issues. Thanks, though!
