Adding to what I mentioned earlier; your snow blower will mark up the asphalt due
to the skids that will be dragging on the pavement and the scraping edge that is
the full width of the snow blower.

All the snow blowers on the market have metal skids and replaceable scraping edges.
My advice to you is ask your neighbors what they use.

You can purchase non marring skids from different suppliers but if you want a
bare surface your going to have to scrape by raising the skids up and locking
them at the fully retracted point so the scraper is touching the asphalt.

There is no non scratching solution UNLESS you invent in a walk behind 2 stage
rubber track drive snow blower like a honda 1332 and plan leaving snow on the
asphalt come what may.

Having tube sand and chains in the vehicle for the possibility that you cannot travel up the
driveway without chains.

A Kubota 4 wheel drive RTV1100 with the snow blower attachment is another option where you have a
heated cab and work lights and 4 wheel drive.

You need to plan on having enough tube sand(6 tubes) in the cargo box and a spare can of
diesel fuel and a collapsable snow shovel.

You can purchase a sweeper for the RTV1100 as well as the snow blower.
The issue with the sweeper is the snow will build up on the sides of the driveway and
not be blown into the woods.

I have a newly paved driveway and need to get a cabbed tractor ( still wrestling between a B & L series ). I want to know if the smaller B2650 would make it up this hill which has a 16 degree grade. I would have the turf tires, and hoping to not have to use any rubber chains if possible. Just want to be able to have a nice front mounted snowblower to go up and down the driveway in 2 passes and be done. Here is a picture of the hill. View attachment 613569

AS far as power is concerned that is not an issue , the 2650 will have adequate power no problem . Your concern will be traction , I would get the rear tires filled , and you will probably need some type of chains to help with traction on that much slope . The 2650 with cab is a great tractor , I have one , and it doesn't have that regen crap on it like the larger ones . I have some slope on my driveway and have never needed chains in the 30 years we have lived here in northern Maine but it's not quite as steep as yours . I have an open cab M5700 with a rear blower and grab the 2650 every time , nice being warm .

I suggest you go to ( gp outdoors Ontario ) website as he has a similar situation as yours and has some very good videos on how he deals with it with a Kubota tractor about the size of the 2650 you are considering .

Thank you all for the insight. Great to know that it should make it up the hill. HEC, I have watched most of GP outdoors videos on youtube and enjoy them immensely.
I wish I could get over my fear that the B2650 is too small for my needs. Im close to now pulling the trigger on a Cab L4760 with the 74" front snowblower. It kills me that it is 18k more, but Im thinking Ill have serious regret If I get the B2650 and it is underwhelming in any way.

Go big or go home (get the bigger machine)
I can't comment on the power of either machine for your local snow(s), and a photographs do not translate well for slope appraisals, but I can see chains or screw in studs for your situation. Remember the saying "plow with the storm" meaning don't wait until you have 12"+ until you start to deal with it. There are lot's of variables when it comes to traction in the snow. Does that hill get any sun in the winter?

If your dealer does not suggest chains for that thing find another dealer;
as 4 wheel drive mules love to really get stuck and I mean stuck as bad
or worse than four wheel drive trucks with plows.

I hope you invest in a set of rear chains for that thing as a tow out bill will
get very, very, very, expensive IF they can even get down there as they
will use nothing less than a 10 wheel wrecker to pull it out.

I actually checked with my dealer and they did not have problems with me using chains, so that was good news. Unfortunately the hill is facing north so its gets no sun all winter. I like the go big or go home logic, I'm leaning hard that way. I just priced up the 74" L4479 front snowblower with the drivelink kit, completion kit, quick attach hitch to go on the L4760. We are flirting with 60K all in. Holy moly thats a lot of money. The only thing that will take the sting away is if it snows like crazy all the time.

The OP never did say what else he would use the tractor for except moving snow. If that is the case 60k for a dedicated machine just for snow removal down a driveway is a huge expense. If that is the situation hiring someone local seems to be a better financial decision.....even a neighbor.
P.S.- What is this snow stuff of which you speak? :)

Holy smokes.. To clean snow? You will have to spend more money on chains for the bigger tires also.. What else are you planning to use the tractor for?

If you're having thoughts that the 2650 is too small, stop and evaluate before buying. It may be enough to get the job done, but it might be smaller than you'd be happy with down the road. The first tractor we bought in '89 or '90 would have been enough. It was an absolute pain to switch between the front blade and the MMM. Both couldn't be mounted for use at the same time.

Long boring story, but last December we bought the 5th tractor in search of that perfect one. After several "snows and mows" it meets all criteria. Wasn't nuts about the Final Tier IV situation so we shopped till this 40 Series turned up. Had just South of 1,000 hours on it, was exceptionally clean and appeared to have been taken care of.

The only chains I used were on that first (2WD) tractor. Since then I've had one with R1's, and the next three all had R4's. This is the second tractor I've had with R4's that I grooved. There's a picture of the grooved tire and the link below explains how the tires worked on a tricky hill. See Post# 652. I don't know what the grade is on the hill, but it does face North and can get to be a problem. The L4240 easily handles an 8' Fisher plow I can power-angle with the front third function remote. That's the nicest and fastest snow removal tool I've had. My other experiences were with a dozer blade on the 2WD, 4 different rear blades and a rear blower.

There aren't any places I plow where shoving the snow off the side or end is a problem. I do a couple parking lots and the FEL-mounted plow can push the piles quite high in the corners of the lots.
