Pull your .44 magnum out (or what you have) stand your ground, and pump some rounds in that pig head, and then "have some bacon".:)

We just bought a side of pork. Mmmmm.... pork. :licking:

The. 500 magnum would work the best.

So... the Shooting site guys told suggested using a tractor to clear up brush rather than buying another gun, and the Tractor site guys gave all sorts of new gun and ammo suggestions, and none of us thought of using a tractor to solve your problem.
Yeah, ain't that funny as all heck. Who wooda thunk it?

After seeing a few videos of the 9mm vs. 40 vs. 45, I think I'll stick with the 9mm I already have. I'm proficient and comfortable with it doing fast fire at 3 and 5 and yards with all hits in a 4" circle. At 7 yards, my time about doubles but still in the circle. But, there's nothing shooting back or running at me. :) What got me started fixing up the shooting range to begin with is the addition of some new dot sights on the M1 Carbine and a green laser on the 9mm. I gotta get in some range time. And what got me buying new sights is trying to dispatch a rattle snake at night a couple of weeks ago with the M1. I had a tough time seeing the rear sights. It's the domino effect.

I have a 454 casull that is pretty close to a 500 magnum. I'd a lot carry my Springfield XD9. It's got 4 times the round count and is still lighter. Not to mention it's not painful to shoot.

One thing to remember is just like in any large animal attack its going to be very important to not lose your fire arm when the animal makes physical contact , I remember a angry 300 lb sow we had , getting grumpy when we sold her piglets , she flattened a 250 lb burly farmer a few times before he got on top of his truck and got out of her reach , luckily she didn't want blood , just her babies .

There is nothing as fierce as a sow separated from her piglets. I suspect many of the so called attacks are sows rushing to their babies. That would still scare the heck out of anybody.
