A well placed 22 will drop them like a brick, heck if you use something bigger, you won't get any brains to go with your eggs:eek:

With the upswing in brain Prions in animals (mad cow etc.) I am NEVER EVER going to eat another animal brain, ever..

Apparently, about 415 of them....

Take it for what it's worth. Interesting read....

That is interesting but seems to indicate this is very rare. Common searches for actual documented cases of this are extremely hard to find. The way this thread seems to describe them they kill at least a man a week in Texas alone when in reality a search of texas man killed by hogs turns up nothing unless you count flipping a 4 wheeler over while hog hunting as a pig attack.

With all these deadly russian boars in Texas you'd think they would have killed someone. Anybody see any evidence of this as I can't seem to find any doing google searches.

Well I did find this???? Is this a blood thirsty man eating wild russian boar attacking someone?

665 humans with injuries ranging from minor to fatal. 63% were considered serious. OK... that does it.. I am shooting any wild pig I see. I have never seen one....
From the article...

"These
attacks occurred between 1825 and 2012,
with 70% having taken place between 2000 and
2012. "

"Should a wild pig begin an aggressive
approach from a far distance, try to outrun
the animal"

Well that is because of the explosion of hog populations in the last couple of decades. We are supposed to have them here in southwest Missouri, and I suppose we do, but I haven't seen any. Although people do hunt them a couple of counties over to the east. I am probably just too close to town for them to hang around here. But we do have loads of deer, and coyotes (I had to blast at them last night) , the occasional bobcat and fox.

As the wild pig populations continue to increase and their range increased, I suppose more attacks will occur just like cougar attacks are on the rise for the same reasons.

One more...

"Only four fatal wild pig attacks have ever
been reported in the United States, three of these
resulting from attacks by wounded animals during
hunting circumstances. The most recent occurred
in Texas in 1996. "

About 25-30 years ago my wife and I were hiking in the Smokie Mountains national park and came across several large kennel looking traps baited with corn. I had no idea what they were for, and we reported them at the ranger station on our way out. They told us they were wild hog traps and discussed the problem with us. I'd never heard of wild hog problems before that time.

Pull your .44 magnum out (or what you have) stand your ground, and pump some rounds in that pig head, and then "have some bacon".:)
