Derek,
Thats like kinda like turkey hunting in the spring in New Hampshire.
Can only harvest male turkeys and one of the ways by telling is there beard,so when it raining and the males aren't faning also they keep there heads low in the brush and all you see is the beard...will one takes his best shot, than you find out its a female w/ a beard, /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif time for some explaining. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
99.9% of the time the game warden chews on one than lets them go w/ a warning.

Oh by the way it wasn't me that shot,I was filming the hunt....whew. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I don't know for sure. I'll have to ask the guy that I go to camp with (owner of the camp and property). The topics has come about during "camp" conversation. I didn't think to ask many questions at the time. But I will call the guy and ask, the camp is in the Johnson VT area (Butternut Mtn). I think you are right, do need some good cleaning. I guess another reason for wildlife population control.

Bird, I haven't been to the new location, but I guess they got the whole thing including the "Hall of Fins". It is now located on Houston street, near the river walk and the tourist area. They have a web site, but it doesn't say much except that the price of admission has been raised to a "tourist" rate /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif They have also added a wax museum, that I think has been shuffled around town since 68.
I'll bet when you were there in 62 it was free. In 68 you probably paid 50 cents. You must have been there for Hemisfair./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
The first time I saw it must have been in the early fifties, when it was at the old downtown location. It was the one place my Dad didn't mind taking us kids. He headed into the bar, while we wandered around all the horns and stuffed animals. Been there many times after it moved to the brewery, got my share of root beer, and beer/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Great place.

Oops, ErnieB, I made a mistake; it was '67 instead of '68 the last time we were at the Lone Star Brewery, and yes, it was free the only 4 times I was there.

And other than driving through on the Interstate, the only time I've been back into San Antonio was Jan. or Feb. of '94 when we visited the Livestock Show one weekend day while I was doing a 3 week gas leakage survey for the little town of Medina. And we went down along the river walk (sure had changed), but I couldn't even remember where the Lone Star Brewery had been.
