Got to be a reason, but I can't think of it - maybe it's obvious and I'm ignorant.

To save you money when puchased new. I'm sure most tractor mfgs. figure why put a 12V receptacle on a tractor and have to charge the customer an extra $50 when for under $10 he can put one on himself. On some tractors it may come standard (even though its really included in the price) on others its an option.

I think it could also be a production cost thing if you figure that just to do that they have to add more wiring, changes to the sheet metal, add a fuse, weather protect if possible....on and on. Then they say you don't need to charge a phone or run a radar detector while on a tractor???

NH does or at least did put 12v receptacles on their utility and farm tractors. The one draw back is that the NH 12v receptacles is a NH style and not a standard style like you would find it a car or truck. I know on my 7710-II from Ford it came with a normal 12v standard so it could just be Kubota didn't think that particular model needed one. Do they put them on any other models?

I'm curious about what people plug into these outlets. My new BX2350 has one, but I've never used it. Dirtrustler must have something in mind.

Im installing BOTH a 12V waterproof receptacle AND a 12V cigarette light up front in the dash. Nothing standard on a B3030 at all

I keep a charger plugged into the outlet whenever it is parked.

$50 is so deep in the noise that no one would even notice it. counting time and parts to add it is more economical when provided up front, and when marketed aggressively it is a valuable sell feature to tip the scale.
