Why no 12v receptacle on my M7040?

It reminds me the first time I've bought a Mercedes-Benz ML500 (year model 2003, bought in 2002) with no CD player as standard commodity (tape reader was standard, CD player in option). What? I thought for the price a CD player would be a standard commodity. Geez, I spent 600$ for a 6 CD player in the dash board with the changer tucked behind a panel in the cargo area. First I thought the salesman was kidding me.

I don't know why, but it happens from time to time that manufacturers don't quite get it when time comes to install commodities. As another TBNer said, he has a 12v plug on his BX24.

What you need is a "Magic plug". (Canadians TBNers might have an idea of what it is) Here's a tv commercial about it.

Got to be a reason, but I can't think of it - maybe it's obvious and I'm ignorant.

Neither my M9 nor my 105S came with a 12 volt plug but of course I added them along with other plugs and hookups for the bailers and rakes and all the other stuff.

The 12 volt plug can be had from Kubota for 30 bucks. It plugs right into the pigtail under the seat. (OS models) or under the blanking plate on the hydraulic control side on (Cab models).

Thats the reason why Im adding the 12V receptical..that and running on the road at times.

I appreciate all the feedback - nice to know I wasn't as ignorant as I was afraid of being. I was thinking of several uses, like using a 12v spotlight, but that radar detector idea really has me intrigued.
