Why does the South have more posts?

/ Why does the South have more posts? #41
Here in NC there is a funny bumper sticker that says " I don't care how they do up north" some die-hard Yankees get offended and it just makes me laugh. Stupidity knows no boundaries

You're exactly right, and that goes for south of the mason dixon line as well.

As for "southern hospitality", if you truely believe in that, then you must also believe that all southerners don't know how to drive in the snow. FACT is, anywhere in the U.S you will find idiots who don't know how to drive in the snow. Just as hospitality isn't found in a location, but in people.

That said, one thing I have found being a difference doing business in the North compared to doing business in the south. In the south, people tell you what they think you want to hear because they don't want to cause conflict. Up north, people tell you what they think and you better be ready to hear it.

Personally, I always like to be "strayt up":D

As for "southern hospitality",

Okay, here is a question for y'all down South, Deep or otherwise :)

Is "Southern Hospitality" still alive? I would like to hear your opinions and have none of my own.

Dave.

Re: Why does the South have more posts?

Longer fence lines!
The farther South one goes the greater the circumference, thus longer fences!:thumbsup:

Well fellers I am from southern Canada. I am a very proud patrot but I'd do real well livin' in Texas.

I still say the post count has to do with stayin' in doors due to heat!!!!

JOKE. How do you get 200 canadians out of a pool.

Answer: As them politely to get out of the pool.......

I think one big part of Southern Hospitality is most Southerners willingness to stop and have a conversation with a perfect stranger.

If you come to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and are standing on the side of the road waiting for a parade along with a half million other people, you can usually easily strike up a conversation with any of those around you. I believe this might be much harder to do in the Northeastern cities.

It seems like Southerners are more willing to express their true feelings and emotions. I would compare most people who live in rural areas throughout America with Southerners and most those living in large cities with Northerners.

JMHO and certainly with no intention of hurting anyone's feelings. I have been wrong before.

Please take these in jest. They are not meant to insult anyone. Just for fun. It's just me adding my 2 cents which added to a buck and a half will get you a cup of coffee.

1) The south has more posts because those in the north have to work real jobs for a living and employers don't let them play on the computer all day?
2) Maybe there are more unemployed in the south and they post a lot when not using the net to look for jobs?
3) Maybe they just need someone to talk too?
4) Maybe its too hot to work outside down south. Much cooler in an air conditioned room with a computer?

Maybe its because the northern unions tells you not to....:thumbsup:

Here is an example to use ....... A southern Folk driving down the hwy and See's a car dead along side the road he/she pulls over to see if can be of some help? the other person with dead car is Southern as well, and reply to the person offering help that I may need a jump start, so they Talk a bit about the weather, and then go get the jumper cables out, talk some more and then go try to start the car... and it starts right up, OK good to go now!
the person with the dead car ask what do I owe you? the helper replied Not a thing, glade to have been able to help, and said I've been in this situation before and needed help and others have helped me, You have a good day! and they both parted waving at each other,

OK same scenario with 2 Northerners, only when the Northerner driving down the hwy See's the dead car on side of the road he thinks to their selves, Good chance to make a Dollar:drool: he/she slowly drives buy and talks out the window You Need a jump start? the other Northerners said, Dah! No I'm just standing here for the Heck of it... then the northern helper said is it worth 5 bucks to you to get your car started? the stranded northerners said yeah! what ever! just hurry up :mur: be quick about it I'm late for work:mad:....... the Northern helper pulls up along front of the car opens the hood with jumper cables in hand and ask the stranded drive to
( Show me the money) :D this stranded drivers :smiley_aafz: reaches into their pocket and pulls out only 3 dollars and ask will this due? the good helping northerner said Ya got a debt card? I can fallow you to the next ATM machine for the remanding balance,........... so they agree and the car gets started the 2 northern drive to the next store and the person that Was helped keeps on driving on past the store and hangs the helper a Bird,.... Hmmm! ya know I just realized there is No Birdy smillies:D ..... anyways Thats the differences in Southern hospitality and Northern Hostitality

I'm not looking for a fight between North and South here :D I would just like to know what Southern folks think about Southern Hospitality. What is it? How has it changed (or not) in the last 30 years?
Dave.

Here in Ark. the day's work is done sitting on front porch eating a dish of ice cream and reading the daily posts. watching the sun set and feeling the cool breeze. Have just returned from several states in western u.s. and to windy to sit out side or to cold for thin blooded people like me.
Southern Hospitality I have invited for years trying to get the Northern cousins to come south to visit. Guess they never learned to read a road map. Deep South is a bus ride to Branson Mo.
y'all come is normal ending of conversation between friends .
