Why did they kill phone conversation recording on Samsung phones?

Last I knew it was illegal to record a phonecall unless all parties consented.

Depends on state laws. Some still require both party consent.

It's because all the bad guys ae in cahootz (sp?) and this is a powerfull weapon against bad people. Of course if the court simply won't hear the case (because it's run by bad people) then, what's the point, I guess?

I haven't tried any of them, but the only requirement seems to be Android 4.1or later.
As far as the ability to record our phone calls go, methinks we should have the same ability that Big Brother does.

I administered a phone recording system for my past employer. We were required by law to have the pre-recorded message that the call may be recorded in case someone from another state where 2-party authorization was required had called in.

In Canada there is no issue recording a conversation not telling anyone as long as you are part of the conversation. You can't record unsuspecting people having a converation. Which now makes me wonder if you are having a conversation with two other people and they talk between themselves. Maybe someone can answer that.

Amazing how many people think this doesn't apply to them and their CCTV cameras as far as the audio part of it.

They say there is one lady that makes all the Bell recordings and another airport/train station recordings. I bet I made a hundred training tapes on those (all calls are recorded, blah, blah blah) and never got paid a nickle!

Rut Roh. I just checked on my android Motorola and the Smart Recorder app I have used for a long time, and it will not record an on the air phone conversation any more. It still works to record from the local microphone and will make and play recordings like that, but no more phone call recording...Of course my android is "up to date" having just done an upgrade a few days ago..

I put an order into Amazon for a suction cup microphone that I'll probably never use.

Both parties have to consent in several states.
