Who shot this arrow?

Saw this on a side road not too far from where I live. The exposed shaft is about thirty feet long but I didn't want to go out in the field to measure it as another one might be on it's way......:laughing:

Since this doesn't, it was obviously fired by a 50' tall poacher.

Interesting, I haven't ever heard that before. I presume that must be for hunting purposes?
