Backhoe Who sells aftermarket backhoe thumbs??

Can someone recommend a supplier who sells thumbs that could be retrofitted to a JD #7 backhoe that is used on a 790 and about half a dozen older JD models in the same size range. I would want a non-hydraulic model with 1-3 fixed positions. I remember seeing a post where the thumb had a shaft with a couple holes to adjust the angle/position. Something with pins where the thumb could be removed and leave only a couple small mounting brackets would be ideal. I can't weld, so whatever I buy needs to be a complete kit that I will take to a welder to attach.

I just ordered the hoe and it should arrive in a couple weeks and be ready. It would be great if I could get this work done at the dealer before I pick it up.

Recently I saw, either in this thread or in the Kubota owning and operating, a thumb on the bh of a BX23 or BX24. The thumb had continual adjustment by using a threaded cylinder and heavy threaded rod, much like an adjustable top link. If I can find it, I'll return here and post a link.

When I got my JD 110 TLB last December, JD had a non-hydraulic thumb just like you are describing.

I saved my pennies and just ordered an Addington hydraulic thumb, after reading about problems with the JD hydraulic ones. http://www.addingtonequipment.com/thumbkits.html

I do not know if the JD mechanical thumbs have the same problems the hydraulic ones have.

Thanks PineRidge. That is exactly what I was looking for and the price is right too. Under $300 delivered and I am guessing about $50 to get it welded. Add another $15 for 2 cans of JD green paint and I am set to go for $325
