i have done a search, with no luck: at one time someone posted a link to a site that would give you the names, address, and phone numbers of the neighbors. does anyone have this info?

Used to be...you could listen in on the cordless phones with the good ole scanner. I heard enough to know that I did not want to know my neighbors!

thankfully, my neighbors aren't that close: but i am looking at a piece of property to buy, and this is the easiest way i know of to get a list of everyone that lives in that area.

Here in Texas, each county has a website for the tax apraisal district. I just go to the map for the county and zoom in on any parcel. I can click on that parcel and find out who owns it. This works for residential homes in the cities, comercial lots and rural acerage.

This is also a good tool to check out a neighborhood.Zillow - Real Estate Valuations, Homes for Sale, Free Real Estate Information.. type in an address and a map shows other houses and what they're worth.

That's also my favorite tool, Eddie. I use that tool too. In my area, lots of people have bought tracts as investments and live somewhere else. The appraisal district addresses show their current address. It's hard to hide from the tax man.
