Good morning all..gravelman in NH I looking to buy a 7000lb gvw equipment trailer...16 foot long. Im thinking full tilt because im getting too old to deal with ramps. i have a Kubota 2650 tractor but i also haul things on pallets for a company so a deck over might be good. I was just afraid a deckover might be too high for tractor even tho it is a small machine. Any suggestions? I had a CAM trailer once...real nice. I don't think they sell the size im looking for. Thanks all for any guidance.

I currently have a PJ full tilt 14K 22' model TF but they also have this model which is a 7K with a partial stationary deck in 16' or longer. I've had mine 3 years now and very pleased. I went with full tilt trailers 13 years ago because I didn't want to deal with ramps either. There are many other brands that have what you are looking for.

At minimum get 5200 lb axles,7k would be best. With 3500 lbs it limits the use for the trailer

ready for this...i had to go to Batavia yesterday.. came across 90. very close. So you get lots of snow in the winter... i love to hear about those stories..im an old Highway Supt. from Mass... retired and moved to NH

I bought a new 14K equipment trailer (20') two years ago.
I only use it very occasionally, and though it does have ramps, they are spring assisted.
The ramps are getting a bit heavy for me now (I'll be 77 in the Fall), but they are still very doable.
An equipment trailer has a much lower center of gravity, and that is a good thing.
Two 3500# axles would leave you with perhaps less than 4500# carrying capacity.
In my view, there is no such thing as a garage too big, or a trailer with too much load capacity (within reason).

It depends on the wind direction off Lake Ontario. I'm about 18 miles S.E. of the lake so sometimes we get hammered with lake effect.
Note the trailer info Fried1765 provided. Its why I upgraded to a 14K. My 7K trailer weighed 2400 which left me only 4600 for a load. That was fine for my tractor then but when I bought a new tractor it was overweight. The 7K also limited me to vehicles under 4600 so I couldn't even haul a 1/2T truck.

Another thing to think about is trailer width. There are equipment / landscape trailers that have only 76" deck width. If you ever need to haul something besides your tractor like a full size vehicle you need at least 82" between the fenders.

++1 on the PJ trailer.I have a 20ft bumper pull PJ with 7,000 lbs axles.Quality made IMHO.

I noted that PJ trailers makes both a 16 foot and a 13 foot single axle 7K axle trailer as well as a single axle 5.2k axle version. All mentioned are Tilt Bed single axle.
I have a 20' full tilt and it is great for the tractor. It's a 10k GVW so I'm in no danger of overloading it with the tractor. If I did it again with a tilt deck, I would get a split deck with 4' in the front that is stationary. .02
