Comparison Which to choose and why

Hello all I wanted some thoughts and opinions on three kioti models.

First off I use to have a 2004 DK40 manual, so now looking into HST transmission

I have the compared the CK4010, DK4210 and DK4710

Nothing found for Wp Content Them 15,11379,11421

I know what the DK40 was capable of but since it wasn't a HST it had more PTO power and hydraulic flow of 12.5 gpm so it's hard to make an equal comparison.

Those two specs are very important as I want to operate a medium duty single spindle 5 foot rotary cutter and 2485 backhoe.

Ok got that out of the way....the ck4010 has more PTO power than the DK4210 but the DK4210 has more hydraulic flow than the CK4010

Pretty sure all three are capable of a medium duty single spindle 5' rotary cutter but unfortunately the ck4010 may not power a 2485 backhoe.

So the question is what would I miss if I purchased a DK4210 over a DK4710??? The DK4710 has roughly 5 more engine horsepower than the DK4210 and has about 4 more PTO power than the DK4210.

Any thoughts or experience is very much appreciated.

My thought is get the most HP available for what frame size and weight you need. It normally is not that much more money and it’s nice to have the extra power when you need it. :2cents:

I run a Rhino 85 backhoe (similar in size and specs to the 2485) with a DK 35 with no problem at all.

I can only find two for sale that have a price DK4210 24,000 and DK4710 28,000. 4000 is a big difference maybe 2000 wouldn't be. Here again though I haven't been to the dealer here just yet. Still getting all my information together.

That's a nice setup. Do you find the rhino 85 performing slowly or is it very responsive to your joystick movement with the DK35

What I dont know is what determines the performance of a backhoe on a tractor running off the hydraulics? The CK4010 has a pump flow rate of 11.7gpm so would that mean it couldn't power a 2485 backhoe? Or maybe the question is would a back be more powerful with a 16.50 hydraulic pump versus 11.70 or would response time just be faster?

Unless you're running a hydraulic flow 'engine' (like some skid steers use for attachments) not sure flow is gonna matter a whole lot.

I run a ck3510, 30hp pto, and a 6' brush hog and 78" flail with no issues. Would more HP let me move faster? IN wet grass with the flail yeah I think so, but too fast and HP isn't the issue anyway. Blade tip speed, grass standing back up, how smooth the terrain, etc are factors that limit speed.

The bigger tractor has more weight - an advantage with a hoe I'd think.

When I bought the price diff between 2610, 3510 was $1800, I was quoted 3k to go to the 4010...5hp for 3k? not worth it. Different dealers charge different amounts for things as well - I got rear remotes, horn, arm rest, mirror, cruise, link pedal, floor mat and loaded tires for $695. The SE added different pto, toolboox, tilt wheel (might be nice) and telescoping arms (i'm ok with the nut arrangement) for $3k over the std model. Umm, no.

I would think you will do better once you start working the deal. But even $4000 is not much over the life of the tractor. If it last just 10 years, and surely it will last longer, that is only 400 a year.

Its plenty responsive.
I generally run the tractor around 2100 RPM for the backhoe speed I like.
If I want more speed I can simply bump up the RPM's a little higher, but that sometimes makes the hoe a little quicker than I like.
So 2100 - 2200 RPM's works good for me.

I believe flow is the speed the backhoe will work.
Pressure (PSI) has more to do with digging power.

I know my DK 35 has enough flow (speed) to run my 8 1/2" backhoe.
And the relief valve (operating pressure) on my backhoe came set at 2150 PSI. My DK 35 makes that + easily. So I get full power and all the speed I need for this backhoe to work fine.
A Kioti 2485 backhoe would work the same on my DK 35. I have no doubt It would run a 2485 no problem.

Yeah you do have a good point there.
