Which hydraulic valve should I choose?

I got a different field sprayer that has hydraulic fold booms however it also has a hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower the booms and a hydraulic driven pump. The problem is I only have 2 hydraulic outlets on the tractor that I spray with. Was wondering if I could just put a valve in the system that switches between folding the booms and raising/lowering them using one outlet. I would like it to be electric so I don't have to get out of the tractor just to flip a switch. I have seen valves like this before but I cant remember what they are called, so I figured I'd ask you guys.

The valve you need is called a diverter/selector valve.

It will switch between two outputs using 12v .

The first pictured valve is inserted in series with the flow path.

Does it use a single button switch or a rocker type switch ? I've seen both but am confused when to use each one.

If you want to lock the valve in a certain position, use an on/off switch.

If you want momentary operation, use a button switch.

Diverter valves generally use momentary single pushbutton switches especially when used to control grapples and 4n1 buckets. In some applications, a ON/OFF rocker or toggle switch is used, in your case either would be OK.

Other valves use a three position center off switch, but these are directional control solenoid valves, not diverters like your asking about.

One side of the diverter/selector valve is a default mode with no voltage applied.

Other side is only active when you apply power.

Whichever hyd circuit you use the most should be the default.
