Which grease?

Ready to grease my new B3030hsdc. Not sure which grease to use. Oldtimer (truck driver) recommended Lubriplate-black but this is not available in my area.
What is the best grease to use in new B3030hsdc?

Molloy grease is a good choice, it is an extreme pressure lube and inexpensive.

+1,Moly disulfide grease-the black stuff.Used in CV axles..Found at Kubota dealers as well as auto parts stores.Best bang for the buck.

I believe that I also use moly grease, but what determined my grease purchase was whatever the manual said. I'd just go check the manual and use whatever Kubota recommends.

I use red and sticky. I have not had any issues with it.

I have used the moly and the synthetic grease before. Always wondered if there was really that much differnce in performance.I know there is a huge gain in Motor oil..........

There is nothing on a tractor that needs high tech grease. Tractors run on grease and you want something that sticks and stays in place. Molly is sticky, EP and inexpensive. I load my grease gun from a 5 gal can.

I've used a lot of different gun grease over the years, but now I use Bobcat Extreme HD and like it very much.

I also use the sticky red stuff, which I buy from TSC. I read a recommendation for it on TBN. Why is one grease better than another-Or is grease just grease?

We've gone to using JD's Green grease.

It's what is recommended for the JD round baler so we just started using it on about everything.

If you have a Texas Refinery Corporation dealer handy, you might want to try their 880 Crown & Chassis grease. It's an excellent grease and out performs the vast majority of other brands.

Sorry but I have to disagree with that. I used to run some machinery that required
grease that was in the $35-50 a cartridge range, when used at the recommended
intervals there were no problems. It was Kluber brand grease, don't remember
which type. If we had used $1/cart grease my gut feeling is it have seized up
the grease case in no time. Ever put any of that cheap $1 grease from TSC
between your fingers and squished it around, it's junk, probably just as well off
putting vaseline in your fittings.

You are very correct about that. I operated and serviced heavy Equipment for more than 30 Years. When I bought My first Tractor I went to T.S.C. and got a 5 Gallon Bucket of Lithium multi-purpose Grease. I have a Grease Pump that fits on the Bucket. This Grease stays the same when it is cold or hot. And it sticks good. Rub some between Your Fingers and You can feel the quality of It.

Then you didn't get the $1 a cartridge stuff they sell now. TSC sells different grades of grease just like everyone else and that cheap junk they is almost like water, it almost washes off clean with nothing but water. TSC carries Mystik brand and their JT-6 grease is good stuff but it's higher than what we pay for the Polyurea JD grease my wife buys by the case.

This is good grease but it's actually more than what we pay for the JD grease:

I'm always putting grease in after rain or using it hard:thumbsup: My question is can u over grease the bearings? is to much a bad thing?

Another grease question here:

TSC has Traveller grease on sale.

The higher quality says premium truck & tractor grease/ $2 per tube.
Their website states that it is NGLI grade2, which is what my tractor recommends. No where on the tube or box is the grade listed. The stock number on the website, grease, and sales circular match.

So does anyone use this? And is this the correct grade? In this instance it's red FWIW

The consistency appears to be similar from other name brands that I致e used in the past.

I grew up on a farm, my dad was an OTR trucker and equipment operator, my brothers are mechanics, one in industrial machines and we pretty much use any good quality grease. We have never had a problem.

I am sure there are places in which specialized greases are called for, but not for our needs. We just make sure we grease when needed.
