Which Electric Fencing Wire

/ Which Electric Fencing Wire #21
I've used cheap steel - rusts in a very few years and might as well be insulated. Also invisible.

I've used hi-tensile galv steel - that seems to last the longest here.

I've used AL - stretches out on its own in the hot SC climate. No rust, but it sags and shorts.

I've used 'wire rope' - nylon rope with stainless steel strands. Easy to put up, a #$%^#$ to splice.

I have not used wire tape for fear of repeating my wire rope experience.

Visibility for horses is critical, so we use either single-strand white 'spur' wire or dual-strand white plastic 'htp' rail with electric above and below.

I am building a permanent electric fence over the next year. I am planing on using 12.5 Ga wire, however, I am not sure if I should use Galvanized steel or aluminum wire. Which is better?

One thing if you use 12.5 ga high tensile make sure you get the holder aka spinning jenny or you'll have a mess .
